Carsick Cars Australia East Coast Tour 2011

A few years, and a few new band-mates along from first CD, “Panda Noise”, China’s Carsick Cars are back with their second studio album, “You Can Listen, You Can Talk”. They’re bringing this latest release to our shores for a National tour this October/November!

Their new record was produced by legendary producer Wharton Tiers (Sonic Youth, Helmet, Dinosaur Jr) after New York composer John Myers caught a Carsick Cars show during his visit to Shanghai and was so struck by the band that he immediately began lobbying for Tiers to produce them. “You Can Listen, You Can Talk” highlights the bands’ growth and offers a more complex sound featuring delicate, shimmering songs side by side with powerful, rage-filled eruptions of noise and chaos.

Marked by front man Zhang Shouwang’s almost magical song-writing skills, this latest album is the perfect example of his knack for combining complex harmonic structures with beautiful melodies and straight ahead guitar riffs, making “You Can Listen, You Can Talk” a perfect introduction to Carsick Cars.
