small acorns
small acorns
is an ongoing series of shows held at various all ages venues around
sydney**. the idea came about by talking with some of the great bands
that i've seen over the last 2 years and discussing other options for
shows rather than the regular pub circuit. also a personal disatisfaction
with apathetic drinking audiences.
we're not re-inventing the wheel here and we've always known that the
kids are where it's at (even in our advanced age). the bands i'm friends
with all came from the diy all ages scene and once they came of age
looked towards the city and pub circuit, to which they have soon become
disaffected.
the idea is to find a local band to headline with small acorn bands
to support. also to energise the local youth to organise and arrange
their own shows, either in co-ordination with small acorns, or completely
independently.
**since starting small acorns i became more involved with the pitz in
marrickville but others have been inspired to continue finding more
all ages options around sydney + check uncut
