"dark,
throaty, female vocals growl over four tracks of blistering thrash that
slows to build a brooding mood before turning back to a fast assault
of up-tempo hardcore. while this australian band has unmistakable modern
his hero is gone-esque influences and occasional musical flourishes
(and the chops to pull them off), something about the basic, solid recording
and simple-yet-effective attack of the music brings to mind lots of
great thrash and hardcore from the early '90s - disrupt, deformed conscience,
etc. - where the intent was more influenced by hardcore than metal.
it's refreshing to hear a band seemingly defining its own sound as opposed
to "sounding like X,"and the lyrics have and introspective
and thoughtful edge on otherwise staid punk topics. cool."
